Descriptions

The command "desc" allows you to set a one line description for your character. For roleplay purposes we would prefer to see these as physical descriptions, representing what a person will see when they look at your character. For example, describe their height and build, the way they hold themselves or the way they move, hair, eyes, facial scars, whether they look smart or scruffy, battle worn or bright-eyed and keen....

The desire to put some kind of personal motto into your desc instead of a physical description is entirely understandable but not something we like to see: as in life, people will discover your obsessions, hatreds and ambitions by talking to you or observing your behaviour, not by glancing at you.

We're looking into developing "profile" further so that players can write histories/backgrounds for their characters. We intend to include the option to allow players to restrict access to their biographies so that only the gods can know their past, or to make them publically available. For now, those who wish to write publically available biographies can put them on this forum in the stories thread. Those who want to write private ones in order to clarify their character can mudmail them to us.

We're going to be looking through descriptions with regard to roleplay ratings.
