Filfy or Not

I was In Dwars the other evening quaffing a tankard of Mead or two. When much to my surprise I heard a bard telling a tale of sorts:

There is a thief named Filfy,

By nature and by name,

He says no words, he loves his gold.

I’ll tell you from where he came.

This outcast knew no better,

He had no Mum or Dad.

And what he got by stealing

Was all he ever had.

It’s true he was a robber,

With force he plied his trade,

Until one day he spied a rogue

And learned another way.

With skill and not with dagger,

Light fingers gained the loot.

The noble art of dipping,

And then the work’s afoot!

You’d better look behind you.

You’d better watch your purse.

If you sniff a strange bad smell

It might get even worse.

Filfy went to Aldo’s,

He shook the hobbit’s hand.

And while he smiled and capered,

A ring he took, as planned.

The Dame, she was a beauty.

Her tiara was a sight!

But while she primped and powdered,

Her head got strangely light.

The mighty Lord Arduis

Wore armour hard and bright

Filfy’s skills undid the straps.

It vanished in the night!

So for his biggest challenge

He ventured to a lair

Where the fearsome basilisk

Would fix you with its stare.

He sneaked into the cavern,

He crept up on its back,

And while it wasn’t looking

Its head went in his sack!

So if you travel through the Lands

And find this fearsome beast

And if it lacks a proper pate

You’ve found Filfy’s mischief!

Now I was amazed by this as the only Filfy I have met certainly hasnt got the skills or the intellect to accomplish such feats. I think the bard had also had to much to drink and was telling tall tales!!!!!
