How extreme lag can kill you when you are only talking

Postby Qoith » Thu Mar 31, 2005 8:19 am

Due to extra people using our net connection, I was experiencing lag that seemed to be getting worse and worse so I switched to simply exploring and talking to creatures to see what I could learn.

I was using a series of talk <creature> <keyword> which has given me interesting responses to date ...

The lag was getting extreme but still I persisted with the talking ... I had assumed it would be quite safer but Zayin fatally discover a flaw in my belief.

Lag turned "talk <monster>" into .... "ta" got lost; "l"<enter>; "k <monster>" - the end result was Zayin in Limbo before I even realised there was a problem :(

Bad luck.
Stick to "tal <monster>" or "as <monster>"! (abbreviations *can* save your life..).

Thanks for that tip, Ruan ... never occurred to me that I could abbreviate those words :)
