Game crashed, character deleted

I didn't have an account here, so I'm using my brother's.

I was playing as my character Ilista when my javelin shattered. It said:
'Your javelin shatters.
Your ? breaks and you have to remove it.'
When I checked my inventory, one item I had was a question mark. A bit later, the game crashed, saying
'Quick shutdown now!'
When I tried to log on a few minutes later, my character was deleted.

Could you please look into this and see what happened? Hopefully I didn't lose my character.

In case it wasn't clear from the above message, it seems to us that the character disappeared because of some kind of glitch, a glitch caused by the weapon breaking and shattering at the same moment, somehow giving her an "item" that was represented by a question mark.

I'm not sure what happened, been away and unfortunately the backups have rolled past the recovery point. I've dug through some archives and found an old, old copy which I've restored but its 2 years old.

Apologies but for now that's the best I have. I'll look at tweaking the player backup files so I can keep a wider time span retention which would help in these kind of situations.
