Survive or Die contest

This is an idea made by Ghandi and me.

It's another kind of tournament that would be interesting for everybody (even the low level ones). This contest is held in several rounds, each with a standard amount of time and range of creatures. The point of this contest is to survive each round until the last one is finished. Then you will get a prize (money and xp or something, automaticly) for surviving the contest.

Detailed info:

The point of the contest is that everyone who wants to participate (max 10 players) pay a certain amount of money for entering the contest. How much you'll have to pay depends on your lvl. Each range of lvls has a fixed price.
1-5: lvl x 200gp
6-10: lvl x 500gp
11-15: lvl x 750gp
16-18: lvl x 1000gp

Important notice:
the rounds are hold in arenas. This way dying wont cost a player losing valuable xp and %. After each round, on all remaining players will the restore spell be cast so they can starts a new round fresh.

Rounds:
Each round has a fixed type of creatures you will face: first round low lvls (2-5) and with each round, stronger creatures have to be fought with a max in round 7 (18>). Each round has a fixed amount of time, so if you cant fight the creatures, you can still survive due to time. Why? After the remaining time reaches 0, all remaining creatures will die instantly, giving no one xp or items.

Example round 1 (2-5); kobolds, barmen, militia soldiers, smelly beggars, theatre goers, actors, muggers

Example round 3 (8-10): fire imps, sub-chiefs, town guards, forgers, sword spiders

Example round 5 (12-15): skeletal warriors, barbarian warriors, cave trolls, green stripe spiders

Example round 7 (last >18) basilisks, lvl 16 barb warriors

Note 1: preferly no gold will be dropped due to prize. Items are ok, since through this way low levels could gain better stuff as prizes for participating/surviving.

Note 2: Each round has a fixed maximum amount of creatures. If one dies, another will be spawned. The lower rounds have more creatures than the higher ones. With each round, the amount of creatures decreases.

Note 3: No perms. They have a job in the land to fulfill.

Note 4: No aura effect. This is contest. For fun and not for rp so a paladin can kill town guards for example. All creatures are aggro though.

Points:
the xp you'll normally get are now points you earn. The one with the most xp at the end (player should have survived all rounds) wins the most money and maybe a bonus. Rest will be split among the other participaters depending how much they earned.

Example: 3 players (not much, but makes it easier to tell :P ) are participating and all survived all rounds. player 1 has 10k, player 2 7.5k and player 3 2.5k points (was too busy running screaming around). Total amount of money all players paid to participate was 30k. The prize money is 2x enrolment fee = 60k. Player 1 recieves 30k + bonus being winner, player 2 recieves 22.5k and player 3 7.5k gold.

Hopefully we made it a bit clear on what our idea is.

If this does get done could there be a mudmail sent out to everyone telling them when the next tourney is?

Implementing sub-games such as this requires considerable effort and our time is better spent fixing up and enhancing the game instead of implementing sub-games.

We know that the game needs more 'fun little things to do' and have vast numbers of sub-games and tourney ideas already, but these ideas are currently shelved till the game itself has been augmented and improved enough to support them properly.
