Though im not a noob anymore, there's still something which bothers me b/c i dont know what it do. Im talking about charms. You hold them, you see a nice line sometimes and then what? What do they do exactly? Do they increase your luck, your ability to fail spells less, to hit harder? Hope anyone can clarify this for me :)

to add to that MAYBE dms could add .. lets say.. after 10days (ingame) of holding that charm/blessing you KNOW what it is because our characters are not that stupid.. they can probably notice the change after a while

Or maybe allow bards to assess their effect. Like mages being able to divine magic items

Well... bards can assess the effect of a good luck charm. If you are not very lucky without the charm then a bard assessing your fortune will get a lower reading without a genuinely lucky charm than with one. If you are exceedingly lucky already them probably a charm is not of much use to you anyway.
