A Bizarre Incident

There I was napping in the chapel a few days ago when I got
woke up by a lot of noise outside. I slowly got my stuff
together and went to see what all the commotion was.

I saw a large group of people in front of the townhall. A few
were starting to leave with looks of horror on their faces. I
went over and saw this deranged madman beating a little dwarf.
The dwarf wasn't offering any resistance, he just accepted the
beating. I just don't understand why anyone would accept a beating
like that, must be a dwarf thing.

First, this madman beat him with a whip. When the dwarf didn't
cry out or beg for mercy, he just got madder. He then pulled out
a poleaxe and started beating on the little dwarf with that. I
was just disgusted by all of it and left.

I didn't see Mayor Demlin trying to do anything about it. No town
guards showed up to put a stop to it or anything. I just don't know
what this town is coming to.
