As in other games like Diablo weapons have a speed. A large hammer is slower then a dagger.
We could do that in los too, like a range of 2.5/3.5 sec
Or just forget the hole idea......

And make it even better...
Higher level -> faster hitting. Of course to accomplish this, lower levels would have to have their hitting speed reduced, potentially making it rather boring to start the game... Rooms affecting hitting speed, like dense forests slowing you, but not some animals that might be wandering there. Heavy armour may also affect hitting speed (in a negative way usually). All this would add to realism, but perhaps gameplay would suffer... Difference with weapons is definately a good idea - make dwarven hammers more powerful, but slower - diamantium longswords less powerful, but faster etc. This could greatly add to diversity
Unsurprisingly we've considered such things in the past but ruled them out, at least certainly for now.
You all seem to spam 'kill' quite enough when trying to wait 3seconds, imagine what it'd be like with a wait of only 2 or less! And hastened rangers would be insane, go for a couple of fast daggers and suddenly all hell breaks loose. I'm pretty sure that if people were having to wait longer than 3s the game would be less fun too. In a nutshell, weapon speeds would be more likely to annoy people than to improve the game. We have other ideas as to how we should improve combat in more subtle and interesting ways. --Kaedan
Really?!?
Guess you won't tell us what and we have to see
Usually only about one return press every second, maybe a little more, just to see how much time until next hit... but sometimes I can count too Fighting would be a lot less fun if the screen is littered with 'please wait x seconds' x50. I think I'd miss the relevant information.
Suggestions to precent massive spamming of 'k xxx':
More than 1 press of return between strikes causes a greater delay before you can strike again. Excessive spamming diminishes the exp awarded. Each would reward skill in combat. As Scorpion says though, when the old heart starts pounding, you can't help banging away on the keyboard.
That would be just plain stupid cause:
1.The newbies would take longer to level 2.I would get no exp at all 3.I would have to wait about 30 mins until i got a shot in so in conclusion old way good new suggested way bad
I sometimes fight with Erill against high level crits and if i dont hit just after the crit tries to hit him the crit attacks me and hits me for half my health. But i only hit for bout 100 and then Erill kills them. I only get about 70exp but if this happened i would only get about 15exp
